HTC Touch Pro2 Now Available From T-Mobile
T-Mobile USA has just begun offering HTC’s latest high-end Windows phone, the Touch Pro2. This device offers a WVGA screen, mobile broadband, Wi-Fi, GPS, and much more.
The price is $350 with a two-year contract.
An Overview of the HTC Touch Pro2
The Touch Pro2 will replace the T-Mobile Wing, which debuted over two years ago, and the new model is an improvement in almost every aspect.
It has a 3.6 inch, WVGA (800 by 480 pixel) touchscreen and a landscape-oriented QWERTY keyboard. The Touch Pro2 will mark the return of the slide-and-tilt screen that was a hallmark of an earlier smartphone from HTC, the AT&T Tilt.
This phone runs Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 on a 528 MHz processor from Qualcomm, with 288 MB of RAM. It could make the jump to Windows Mobile 6.5 when this new version is available, but T-Mobile didn’t commit to that today.
This version of the Pro2 offers support for T-Mobile’s 3G network, as well as Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.
Other features include a 3.2 megapixel auto-focus camera, a GPS receiver, a microSD card slot, and a 1500 mAh battery.
The HTC Touch Pro2 is available at T-Mobile retail stores, select authorized dealers, and at T-Mobile.com.
