A Bit More More Info On The Samsung Instinct S50 Comes To Light

The first reports of the Samsung Instinct s50 emerged recently, but at this point little is known about this device. Still, an image has shown up on the Web, and the FCC has approved this phone.

Samsung Instinct s50Sprint has been offering the Instinct series for over a year now, and the leaked image of the upcoming model shows it will have a strong resemblance to its predecessor, the s30, which debuted this spring.

It’s difficult to say to for certain, though, as the picture of the s50 is typical of pre-announcement “spy” photos: so blurry as to be almost useless.

Unfortunately, this image isn’t accompanied by any specifications, so it’s not clear how this model will be different from the current ones.

Unless the s50 is radically different, it will be a consumer-oriented, entry-level smartphone with a touchscreen, GPS, and mobile broadband.

An OLED Display?
Last week, Sprint revealed that it will release its first phone with AM-OLED display by the end of this year. It also said that this device will be made by Samsung.

Few other details on this upcoming model are available, so it’s possible that the Instinct s50 is the one Sprint is referring to.

FCC Approval
This Samsung phone may be hitting the market soon, as it has received FCC approval, a necessary step before any wireless product can be released in the U.S.

According to an earlier unconfirmed report, Sprint will release the Samsung Instinct s50 on September 3.
